Beginner Patterns for Quilting

The following Beginner Patterns for Quilting are all Traditional quilt blocks done in the One Block Only style. Each pattern is shown in a large format so you can get a good idea of what you might like to try.

Lap Size Quilts or Wall Quilts

The quilt blocks are alphabetically arranged. All Beginner Patterns for Quilting will include full instructions and fabric requirements for that specific block.

Arizona Indian Memory

This block is a combination
of at least three blocks:
Arizona, Indian Puzzle
and Memory. It takes
aspects from each block.




Makes a quilt 48”x48”

Aunt Dinah

This block is a fun block
(just a little challenging with
the spinning top and flying
geese mini-blocks). Otherwise
it's a simple nine-patch.

Autumn Leaves

This block is an easy,
consisting of simple squares, Tri-sqs and stems which
are all tied together with
rectangular sashing.
