Welcome to my
Library

My library is a place where the books and magazines I recommend are books I have myself and magazines I subscribe to. I hope they are as helpful to you as they have been to me.

Books

My favorite book of all time is Eleanor Burns’ Quilt in a Day® “Irish Chain in a Day —
Single & Double”
(Second Edition) ©2004 and
Published by Quilt in a Day®, Inc.

I have both the First Edition (©1986) and the
Second Edition. What I love about this book
is the simplicity of the instructions for making
a Irish Chain Quilt.

Eleanor teaches you how to make this quilt pattern by using the stripping method. Now maybe she can make a quilt in a day, but I can’t.

But it is a fast quilt and my choice when I need a pretty wedding quilt.
I especially like this pattern with gingham fabrics.

..The fastest Queen Size Quilt I ever made was ..for a friend’s wedding. From start to finish it ..took me a little more than two months. That ..included the machine quilting. I used his favorite ..color (green) and her favorite color (pink) in a ..double Irish Chain and machine quilted it with ..diagonal lines. His sister carried it on the plane ..to Louisanna for the wedding.

Benni Harper Mysteries
It was an accident I found
the Benni Harper mysteries.
I love a good mystery—I sometimes can even tolerate a mediocre mystery.

I like to figure out “whodunit” and often do before the end of the book.

I don’t often wait until the end of a book, especially when they tend to get “long in the tooth”. With mysteries, I am so caught up in the whole process that I finish the book before I ever want to skip to the end.

Quilting is the added bonus with Earlene Fowler’s books. I love that she uses traditional quilt blocks for her titles.

Although the quilting often centers on Benni’s job as director of a working-artists gallery and there’s always a new Quilt Exhibit or a crafts fair.

Then there’s Benni’s grandmother—Dove—a woman after my own heart!
A force to be reckoned with.

And there's Benni’s cousin from Arkansas—a real hoot! His attempt at winning Benni’s best friend’s heart is such a fun story!

Then there’s Gabe...
